There has been an important development for Pakistani pilgrims going on Hajj from Karachi. The Karachi Airport has been included in the Road to Makkah project.

 

 

Sources say that Hajj pilgrims will have facilities at Karachi Airport under the Road to Makkah project, the immigration of pilgrims will be in Karachi instead of Saudi Arabia.

 

 

Under the Road to Makkah project, arrangements at Karachi Airport are in final stages, pilgrims will not need immigration at Jeddah and Madinah Airports.

 

 

Sources informed that the Saudi aviation staff will perform the immigration of the pilgrims at the Karachi airport. The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has allocated space for 2 counters for the Saudi immigration.

 

 

The director of Hajj Karachi says that the first flight will depart from Karachi on May 9 to the Hijaz under the Road to Makkah project.

 

 

Under the government scheme, 16,281 pilgrims from Karachi, 1,000 from Sukkur, 2,200 from Quetta will depart from Karachi to Hijaz Peninsula under the Road to Makkah project.

 

 

The government will also bear the cost of plastic wrapping of the goods of the pilgrims leaving from Karachi.
